JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has sealed hundreds of car tires on Bintan Island, Riau Islands Province (Kepri) covering Tanjungpinang City and Bintan Regency. This is due to not having complete documents.

Hundreds of tires were stored in two warehouses, namely in Toapaya District, Bintan as many as 417 tires, and on Jalan Hang Kasturi, Kilometer 10, Tanjungpinang as many as 246 tires.

"Initial suspicion, the owner cannot show complete documents for the ownership of the tires," said Head of the Medan Ministry of Trade's Medan Commercial Order Supervision Center (BPTN), Andri quoting Antara.

Andri said that when checking the two warehouses, the owner of the tire storage warehouse could not show the Indonesian National Standards (SNI) Designate Product Certificate (SPPT) and Goods Registration Number (NPB).

Therefore, he said, BPTN officers immediately put up an orderly commercial line so that the tires do not shift or move to other places.

His party will summon the warehouse owner for clarification, regarding the ownership of the tires without this document.

"We will also explore the origins of the hundreds of tires," said Andri.

Meanwhile, the tire warehouse manager in Tanjungpinang was reluctant to comment on the origin of the hundreds of medium to large car tires. Likewise when asked about the completeness of the documents for the tires.
