Hutama Karya: Binjai Toll Road Development Process - Brandan Base Already 79.62 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) revealed that the progress of the construction of the Binjai - Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road as part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road reached 79.62 percent as of the end of August 2023.

"The progress of the construction of the Binjai Toll Road - Pangkalan Brandan as of the end of August 2023 reached 79.62 percent," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 31.

Tjaho added that the Binjai Toll Road - Pangkalan Brandan has a main road or main road along 57 km and has a plan speed of 100 km/hour.

"If the Binjai - Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road is fully connected, then the travel time from Binjai - Pangkalan Brandan, which was originally 90 minutes, will be cut to 48 minutes," he said.

According to Tjahjo, currently his party has completed the construction of the Sei Wampu Bridge on the Binjai Bandan Pangkalan, Binjai Langsa Section. This bridge has also been tested for Functional Feasibility (ULF).

The implementation of this ULF was carried out by the Ministry of PUPR of the Directorate General of Highways, Directorate of Bridge Construction, Balai Jembatan. A series of ULF activities of the Sei Wampu Bridge went quite smoothly, while the bridge load tests were carried out, including dynamic loading tests and static load tests.

The ULF activity was carried out to test the construction results on the specifications and requirements of the design that had received approval and certification from the Bridge Security and Road Tunnel Commission (KKJTJ).

In addition, the Sei Wampung Bridge ULF is also expected to be the first step in supporting the safe and comfortable connectivity of the Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road.

The Sei Wampu Bridge itself is the longest continuous steel frame bridge on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) built in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.

Having a total span of 231 meters, by playing 130 meters long without pillars in the middle, the Sei Wampu Bridge, which is included in the continuous truss bridge, has a red steel frame, which has the potential to become a new icon of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road in North Sumatra.
