PALEMBANG - The Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) for the Indralaya-Pramulih section in South Sumatra, along 64.5 kilometers, is ready to operate on Wednesday (30/8).
Palembang-Indralaya Toll Branch Manager Syamsul Rijal said the construction of the toll road has been completed and for facilities and infrastructure it is 100 percent complete.
"We have confirmed that all facilities for toll users are ready, starting from rest areas, CCTV along toll roads, ambulances, tow trucks, PJU, and so on," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.
He explained that on this first day all motorists who will pass the toll road are not subject to tariffs.
However, his party has not been able to confirm when the toll tariff will take effect because it is still waiting for the Decree of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR).
In addition, he revealed that the JTTS plan would be inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo in the second week of September 2023.
By operating the toll road, he said, the driver's travel time is much more efficient, it only takes 30 minutes, because if you take the road from Indralaya to Prabumulih, it will take two hours.
However, to meet the needs of fuel oil (BBM) on the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road, it is still in the process of preparing modular gas stations.
"Therefore, we urge toll users to fill in their fuel before entering the toll road as long as Pertamina gas stations are not yet available, then it is also hoped that all users will prepare toll cards," he said.
He explained that on the Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road, there are two rest areas at KM 56 which are type A rest areas, each covering an area of 6 hectares with sufficient facilities for motorists.
In addition, his party targets the toll road to be crossed by 9,000 to 10,000 vehicles per day, but during the trial period as many as 3,000 vehicles passed
"We have assigned 157 personnel for operational services, 12 paramedics and 14 patrol personnel from the South Sumatra Police and for operational time it is 24 hours," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Transportation Service, Ari Narsa, said that the enthusiasm of the people of South Sumatra towards the Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road is very large.
Since the beginning of the construction, the Indralaya-Prabu voter toll road has been fully supported, so people who dream that this toll road can be passed quickly.
"In addition to shortening travel time, it can also save more for motorists, infrastructure like this is what our community needs," said Ari.
