Jabodebek LRT Door Short, Manager: Design For High Indonesian Body 160 Centimeters

JAKARTA - The doors of the Jabodebek LRT are in the spotlight on Twitter social media because they are considered too short. Jabodebek LRT users with a height of 180 centimeters have to look down when they want to enter or leave the door.

Responding to this exemption, Jabodebek's Public Relations Manager, Kuswardoyo, explained that the size of the train door was designed based on the average height of the Indonesian people.

"When it comes to existing facilities, they are made by INKA, they measure that it is adjusted to the average height of Indonesian citizens," he said at Dukuh Atas LRT Jabodebek Station, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 29.

Kuswardoyo also apologized for this. He explained that the Jabodebek LRT was indeed adjusted to the height of the Indonesian people, which was only about 160 centimeters.

Therefore, he said, if there are Jabodebek LRT passengers who are above the average height of the Indonesian people, they must lower when entering the train.

"Because there is also a case of foreign passengers tilting their bodies. Sorry, the average weight of Indonesian citizens is measured, right? 160 centimeters. If 175 and above, you have to bow down," he said.

Previously, it was crowded on Twitter social media, a tweet from a Jabodebek LRT user about the door to this mode of transportation which was considered too short.

So users who have a height of 180 centimeters have looked down when entering and leaving the train.

This complaint was uploaded by a Twitter account with the name @gerbongbagasi.

In his upload, he assessed that the mobility of users of public transportation services was hampered by the high size of the train door which was too short.

The first impression of taking the Jabodebek LRT train during the trial. "Sorry, this train door is short and not friendly for people as high as 180 centimeters," he wrote, quoted Monday, August 28.

"In and out of the train bowing, moving between downing train connections, I don't know which dimension to measure using standard. The Jakarta MRT and Jakarta LRT trains don't seem this short," he continued.
