Government Calls AARC Conference Aims To Improve Road Infrastructure

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the 2023 Asia Australasia Road Conference (AARC) aims to improve the quality and sustainability of road infrastructure for the community.

"I believe that this conference provides us with insight and experience in advanced technology to improve efficiency in road infrastructure development. The goal is to produce high quality and sustainable road infrastructure for everyone," said Basuki, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, August 27.

Basuki said that the success of the 2023 AARC implementation was also inseparable from the strong cooperation between the Ministry of PUPR and various stakeholders in the field of road infrastructure.

"This productive cooperation shows our commitment to the progress of transportation and road infrastructure. Hopefully, the cooperation established at this conference will continue to inspire us in efforts to change positively," he said.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono accompanied by President of the World Road Association (PIARC) Nazir Ali and representatives of the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australia (REAA) Muhammad Marizwan Abdul Manan officially closed the 2023 Asia Australasia Road Conference (AARC) series at Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Saturday (26/8).

Basuki expressed his gratitude to all participants who have joined and actively participated in AARC 2023.

AARC 2023 which was held on August 24-27, 2023 in Labuan Bajo was attended by 1,052 local participants and 138 international participants from various circles, ranging from the government, private sector, investors, contractors, design and technical consultants, academics, industry players, to professionals.

Carrying the theme "Advance Technology Implementation Forwards Sustainable Road Development", this activity aims as a means of sharing the knowledge and experience of local and international experts in the development and development of sustainable road infrastructure by utilizing advanced technology.

AARC 2023 agenda includes international seminars and conferences, keynote sessions, technical sessions, national and international exhibitions, field visits and cultural visits.
