Sri Mulyani's Subordinates Make Sure WFH In Jabodetabek Doesn't Disturb The National Economy

Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Febrio Kacaribu expressed his support for government policies at the direction of working from home (WFH) for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN). According to him, there is no significant impact on economic performance on the decision.

"No (disrupts economic performance)," he told the media crew after the Workshop on Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) Implementation in a series of meetings between the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the ASEAN Central Bank in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 23.

Febrio explained that this optimism was based on the initial situation of the pandemic which required most workers to carry out productive activities remotely.

"Terbukti saat periode 2021 dan 2022, ekonomi kita berjalan sangat baik meskipun mayoritas malah malah bekerja dari rumah," tuturnya.

Sri Mulyani's subordinate said that the key to ensuring the national economy remains strong is to maintain the main source of gross domestic product (GDP).

"We must be able to maintain consumption at a high level, so it will be quite safe," he said.

For information, the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian has issued instructions to implement 50 percent of WFH in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.

The policy itself is contained in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs or the Minister of Home Affairs Number 2 of 2023 concerning Control of Air Pollution in the Jabodetabek area.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs followed up on President Jokowi's directives in a limited meeting to improve air quality in the Jabodetabek area on Monday, August 14.
