JAKARTA - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) collaborates with the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) through the Export Human Resources and Trade Services Training Center (PPEJP) to organize in-class training for MSMEs assisted partners of BCA who are ready to export.

This was marked by the signing of a collaboration between the Head of the Human Resources Training Center for Export and Trade Services (PPEJP) of the Ministry of Trade Sugih Rahmansyah and the Senior Vice President of the Division Business Commercial & SME BCA Tjoeng Haryanto, recently.

Head of the Export Human Resources and Trade Services Training Center (PPEJP) of the Ministry of Trade, Sugih Rahmansyah, said that BCA and PPEJP had compiled a special curriculum containing materials for improving product quality, export access, and simulation of foreign transactions.

"This curriculum is expected not only to help them enter the global market, but also to support MSMEs to export goods that have added value and a larger selling value," said Sugih in an official statement received by VOI, Saturday, August 12.

For pilot projects, BCA and PPEJP target 60 MSME players to participate in in-class training activities to be carried out in Yogyakarta and Central Java.

Sugih assessed that MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy. According to data from the Ministry of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM) throughout 2018, there were 64.2 million MSME actors or 99.99 percent of the total number of business actors in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the absorption power of MSMEs is 117 million workers or 97 percent of the labor absorption power of the business world. In fact, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs also recorded that the number of MSME export contributions rose from 14.37 percent in 2020 to 15.69 percent in 2021.

"In addition to providing training for MSMEs ready for export, cooperation between BCA and the Ministry of Trade is also carried out through the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), Trade Attache (Atdag), as well as the Directorate General of National Export Development (DJPEN) which will help open international market access for MSMEs," he said.

Meanwhile, BCA Senior Vice President Division Business Commercial & SME Tjoeng Haryanto said, MSMEs have enormous potential to advance the national economy, as reflected in the increasing number of MSME export contributions in 2021.

"As part of the national financial ecosystem, BCA is committed to supporting the government's efforts to encourage MSMEs to Go Export through various innovations," he said.

He said, in terms of financial access, BCA has distributed KUR to MSMEs in various business lines. Through this In class training, it is hoped that it can complement the financial access facilities provided.

"BCA consistently supports the growth of MSMEs through the MSME-specific financing program, and develops special programs for environmental, social and governance MSMEs (LST)," said Tjoeng.

In addition, BCA also holds MSME Fest as a forum to bring MSMEs together with business people, as well as help market products online and offline. The event was attended by more than 1,400 MSMEs from all over Indonesia.

"We realize that although MSMEs have great potential, many of them still find it difficult to open access to international markets and make foreign transactions," he said.

Therefore, through this training, it is hoped that it can answer all the difficulties experienced by MSMEs. Meanwhile, in class training does not only provide theoretical briefing, but there are also transaction simulations to increase the capacity and capability of MSMEs.
