JAKARTA - The absorption of capital expenditure (CAPEX) of PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) during the first semester of 2023 was recorded to have only absorbed Rp55 billion out of a total of Rp350 billion prepared.

"Capex dari Rp350 miliar yang direncanakan baru terealisasi Rp55 miliar," ujar Direktur Keuangan RMKE Vincent Saputra yang dikutip Sabtu 5 Agustus.

Vincent revealed that the reason Capex absorption has not reached 50 percent in the first half of this year is due to weather constraints and high rainfall at the beginning of the year.

However, Vincent believes that in the second half of this year all targets can be achieved. Vincent explained that this year's RMKE capital expenditure is allocated for the construction of a hauling road project that will be integrated with several mines in Muara Enim, including mines owned by PTBA.

Of the total road construction planned for 39 kilometers, Vincent continued, 34 km have been realized and the remaining 5 kilometers have reached the mouth of the mine.

"The remaining 5 km whose terrain is quite extreme and we are disturbed by the weather for the construction of this road," added Vincent.

Vincent revealed that the construction of this road will facilitate the transportation of coal from mines in Lahat and Muara Enim.

The road construction is not without reason. Previously, the President Director of RMKE, Tony Saputra, said that currently the road used to transport coal is a road owned by the South Sumatra Provincial Government which the Governor has also given a limit on the size of the transport truck that can pass.

"The size of the truck is limited and the deadline from 6 pm to dawn must stop," Tony added.
