JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Section II Cigombong-Cibadak Toll Road. The reason is, the toll road can cut the Jakarta-Sukabumi, West Java trip to only 2.5 hours.
"Alhamdulillah, the Cigombong-Cibadak section will accelerate the journey from Jakarta to Sukabumi. Usually 5 hours to 2.5 or 2 hours," said President Jokowi after inaugurating the Cigombong - Cibadak toll road section at the Parungkuda toll gate, Sukabumi, West Java, Friday.
During the event, President Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, and other relevant officials.
"Even before there were those (traveling) for up to 6 hours, 9 hours, 8 hours because there was a market being jammed, workers leaving the factory was jammed. I experienced myself once, almost 6 hours," said the President.
With the inauguration of the toll road, congestion can be avoided.
"This means that the mobility of people with the mobility of goods will be faster with this toll road, and if you want to go to Pelabuhan Ratu to Geopark Ciletuh, to Ujung Genteng everything will become open because it is faster," added the President.
President Jokowi also said that the opening of the toll road was a gift for the anniversary of independence.
"Yes, this is a gift for the 78th independence anniversary for West Java Province, especially to Sukabumi," said the President.
The President also ordered the completion of Section III and Section IV of the Bocimi Toll Road to be pushed as soon as possible.
