PLN Notes An Increase In PLN Home Charging Customers Up To 119.4 Percent

PT PLN (Persero) recorded an increase in home charging services. As of the first semester of 2023, the number of customers using this service was 1,933 customers, up 119.4 percent from a total of 881 customers in 2022.

PT PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the number of home charging services during the first semester period continued to increase. It was recorded that from January to June 2023, 1,052 customers had installed home charging services.

"With the growth of customers who use home charging, this is a positive signal of the growth of electric vehicles in Indonesia. Customers are now increasingly aware of the benefits of using electric vehicles," said Darmawan, quoted on Thursday, July 27.

Darmawan also added, from January to June 2023 the use of electricity from home charging reached 960 MWh from the previous 91 MWh in June 2022. This is proof that the Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem is increasingly loved by the community and will continue to increase.

"The use of EVs in society is getting more massive, and this is the right moment for us to switch to clean energy. In line with the government's mission to achieve Net Zero Emission (NZE) in 2060, PLN will continue to be committed to giving it its best," said Darmawan.

This increase in the number of customers was also driven by the presence of Electric Vehicle Digital Services (EVDS) services in the community. In addition, EVDS services available at PLN Mobile make it easier for customers to increase power, install new ones, and buy electric vehicles.

Darmawan also added that the availability of ultra fast charging services at SPKLU and SPBKLU spread throughout Indonesia further facilitates the mobility of EV customers. In addition, the target of 1,000 SPKLU units and 1,500 SPBKLU units by the end of 2023 continues to be accelerated.

To attract public interest, PLN also offers various promos for customers until the end of the year, one of which is the promo for installing free home charging services and a tariff discount of 30 percent for charging electric cars at 22.00 - 05.00.00.
