Jokowi Wants To Move Pindad And PTDI To Subang, Deputy Minister Of SOEs Finds Input

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) II Rosan Roeslani spoke about President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) wish to move PT Pindad (Persero) and PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) or PTDI to Subang Industrial Estate.

Rosan admitted that he could not talk much about it.

The reason is, after being launched on Monday, July 16, he only asked for input on priority programs at the Ministry of SOEs that were below him.

"I can't comment yet. I'm just getting input first, I just had a meeting to ask for input on priority programs that must be carried out," he said when met at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Thursday, July 20.

Previously, SOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed that President Jokowi wanted the Defense SOEs, namely PT Pindad (Persero) and PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) or PTDI, to be moved to the Subang Industrial Estate.

Erick said the desire was based on the reasons for the development of the industrial ecosystem in the area to be more integrated.

In addition to the integration of the industrial ecosystem, said Erick, the operational location of the two members of the Defense BUMN Holding (Defend ID) was in the middle of the city, so they had to be moved.

"Mr. President wants Pindad and PTDI to move to Subang, Subang Industrial Estate, to be integrated, because the location of Pindad and PTDI is already in the middle of the city," he told reporters, when met at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, written Thursday, July 20.

For your information, the request for a transfer of the operational location of two DEFEND ID subsidiaries has been discussed by Jokowi with Erick Thohir and also the defense minister Prabowo Subianto. The discussion was held in two meetings.

The first meeting was held at the Bogor Palace last week. At this meeting, Jokowi asked the national defense industry to continue to be strengthened because it is closely related to the security of the state and society.

Meanwhile, the second meeting was held on Tuesday, July 18. However, Erick visited Prabowo Subianto's residence without Jokowi. Erick was accompanied by the newly appointed Deputy Minister of BUMN II, Rosan Roeslani.
