Minister Of Transportation Budi: Cisumdawu Toll Road Encourages Increased Kertajati Airport Activities

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that the presence of the Cileunyi, Sumedang, and Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Roads can facilitate access and shorten travel time between Kertajati and Bandung Airports.

"That way, the hope is that flights at Kertajati Airport will increase," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, July 12.

As is known, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Cisumdawu (Cileunyi, Sumedang, and Dawuan) Toll Road, West Java, yesterday. Also present were Minister of PUPR M. Basuki Hadi Moeljono, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.

Regarding the Cisumdawu Toll Road, Budi expressed his appreciation to all parties who have supported its completion until the inauguration of the toll road.

Kertajati Will Fully Operate October

Meanwhile, President Jokowi also appreciated the increase in flight activities at Kertajati Airport. He said he was happy because Kertajati Airport was much better.

"I am happy because the activities at Kertajati Airport have been very good. Now it has been used for Hajj embarkation, Hajj embarkation airports for approximately 8,000 pilgrims from seven regencies/cities in West Java Province," said Jokowi.

In addition to the Hajjmbarration, the largest airport in West Java Province has also served a number of international flights. Among them are Umrah flights four times a week and flights to the Kuala Lumpur-Kertajati route twice a week.

"Later starting in October, this airport will operate fully. This means that from Husein Sastranegara Airport it will be shifted to Kertajati, especially for the jet plane," said the President.

On this occasion, Jokowi also appreciated the interest of investors from several countries who will invest in Kertajati International Airport.

He said the government would immediately decide and speed up the investment process for these investors.

"We will decide later in October that those who operate and also participate in ownership of Kertajati Airport, we hope that the traffic will be more congested if there are foreign investors who join Kertajati Airport," he said.

Jokowi hopes that a number of efforts have been made by the government to improve flight activities at Kertajati International Airport can provide the best results.

Moreover, the Cisumdawu Toll Road which has been inaugurated can shorten the travel time between Kertajati and Bandung Airports for approximately 1 hour.
