KSP Optimistic That The Jabodebek LRT Is Ready To Operate In Mid-July 2023

JAKARTA The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) is optimistic about the operation of the Bogor Depok Bekasi (Jabodebek) Jakarta LRT National Strategic Project (PSN), which is planned to be soft-launching on July 12. Currently, the Jabodebek LRT Phase I of infrastructure progress is 99.37 percent and is in the process of trial runs.

"On this occasion, KSP wants to ensure the readiness of accessibility of other supporting modes of transportation or feeder transportation or access roads at every LRT station in DKI Jakarta, Depok City and Bekasi City," said KSP Main Expert Helson Siagian, in opening the Jabodebek LRT Operation Readiness Meeting on Friday, June 16 afternoon.

The existence of the LRT is intended to unravel the congestion that often occurs in Jabodebek due to the dominance of the use of private vehicles. At the same time, the construction of the LRT has the spirit to encourage people to switch to integrated public transportation.

"All stations must have access to other public transportation," continued Helson.

Helson added that in addition to accessibility readiness, obstacles were still found related to the use of State Property and Regional Property assets that needed solutions to be found. Therefore, KSP bridged the settlement so as to produce several agreements between related parties.

On the same occasion, PPK for the Development of Urban Transportation Infrastructure/Urban Transport, Ferdian Suryo Adhi Pramono said that there were no significant technical problems in the work and currently in the trial run process.

To note, the Jabodebek LRT Project is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) in accordance with the Permenko for Economic Affairs Number 21 of 2022 which has 18 stop stations at 3 service routes, namely Cawang-Bekasi, Cawang-Cibubur, and Cawang-Dukuh Atas. With the operation of the Jabodebek LRT, it is hoped that it can become an alternative mode of transportation for passengers connecting Bekasi City, Depok City and DKI Jakarta.

The Jabodebek LRT service is scheduled to carry out a limited operation on July 12, 2023 until the inauguration of August 18, 2023, to coincide with the 78th commemoration of Indonesia's independence.
