Polemic Of Ex-Japanese KRL Imports, Andre Rosiade: Minister Who Refuses To Cobain Take The Train At Busy Hours

JAKARTA - The polemic regarding the import of used electric rail trains (KRL) from Japan has yet to find a bright spot. In fact, at the ministerial level there are still disagreements regarding this import plan.

Member of Commission VI from the Gerindra faction, Andre Rosiade, also raised his voice regarding this.

He said the government must immediately hold a meeting to decide the fate of this import.

The reason is, this import is carried out to meet the needs of replacing the series of trains or trainsets that have retired this year.

In fact, Andre also advised ministers who did not agree to import to try directly how crowded train passengers were during peak hours both while leaving and returning from work.

For your information, one of the ministers who oppose the KRL import plan is the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. He considered this import not necessary.

If there are also those who refuse, I suggest ministers come to the field, try. Check yourself how the suffering of the Indonesian people who are this young train. So please take a pro-people policy," he told reporters, written Friday, June 16.

"Come on to the field, feel the conditions on the field. Don't ever go to the field but ignore it. I suggest the officials take the KRL, see what it's like during peak hours," he continued.

Regarding KRL imports, Andre admitted that initially he did not approve of the plan of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero).

However, after trying the mode of transportation during peak hours in the morning to go to work at the DPR Building, his views changed.

Andre admits that this KRL import is indeed needed to meet the needs of users of this mode of transportation service.

The reason, said Andre, was that at hours he was busy going and going home from work the train passengers were crammed together. He likens it to cendol.

"I am a person who refuses to import. But because I see the situation at peak hours between 6-9 am and also at 4-8 pm it is really needed, yes we have to support it. In 2024 we will backscatter, 2025 is just being produced by INKA," he said.
