JAKARTA - The Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) has spoken about the request to audit the debt of cooking oil from the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas).

Deputy for Supervision of Government Agencies for Economic Affairs and Maritime Affairs of BPKP Salamat Simanulang said that in the context of payments, the government through the Palm Oil Welfare Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) appointed a surveyor to verify how much the government had to pay regarding the flow of cooking oil.

Furthermore, Salamat admitted that he received information that the surveyor had also completed a report related to cooking oil.

"As long as we get the information, actually Indonesian surveyors have completed the report. Then there is another process within the Ministry of Trade that needs to re-test the figures that have been published by PT Sucofindo," he told reporters written Thursday, June 15.

In that context, Salamat said, about last week he met with the Director General at the Ministry of Trade. He admitted that BPKP had also received a letter from the Ministry of Trade regarding the flow of cooking oil.

However, Salamat reminded that PT Sucofindo as a professional surveyor has been officially appointed to verify the flow of cooking oil.

Therefore, he said, currently BPKP wants to study from the legal aspect, whether it is permissible to review what has been published by PT Sucofindo. Given that Suputindo is a professional surveyor institution.

"This means that he is professionally recognized, this is what we are reviewing again, whether it is possible to do it again (reviu) or not," he said.

Previously, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan said the total bill of cooking oil cassation submitted by business actors spread Rp812 billion. Meanwhile, the results of verification by the surveyor PT Sucofindo only reached Rp474 billion. That way, there is a difference of Rp338 billion.
