YOGYAKARTA The figure of Shadiq Akasya received the spotlight after he was appointed by SOE Minister Erick Thohir to become President Director of PT Bio Farma (Persero). This position replaces Honesti Basyir. Then, who is Shadiq Akasya actually?

Quoted from several sources, Shadiq Akasya was born in Sukabumi, West Java in March 1968. The man who is called Shadiq has been involved in the financial and banking industry for approximately 30 years.

On the official website of BNI Life, it is stated that Shadiq Akasya studied his Bachelor of Economics at Pancasila University (1992) with a concentration of management. After that he continued his studies by taking the Master of Agribusiness Management in 2002 at the Bogor Agricultural Institute.

Before being appointed as President Director at PT Telkom Indonesia, Shadiq Akasya had pursued a career at PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk since 1992. He has held several positions, namely being the Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the BNI Makassar Regional Office (2010-2012), the Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the BNI Senayan Regional Office (2012-2015), and finally as the Head of the BNI Institutional Relations Division (2015-2018).

Then on June 26, 2018, Shadiq Akasya was appointed at the GMS to become the President Director of PT BNI Life Insurance, one of BNI's subsidiaries engaged in insurance.

Now Shadiq Akasya has been appointed as President Director of PT Telkom in the reshuffle carried out by the Minister of SOEs. The changes were made in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of SOEs as the General Meeting of Shareholders of the Company (Persero) PT Bio Farma Number: SK-110/MBU/06/2023 dated June 5, 2023 concerning Dismissal, Changes in Nomenclature of Positions, Transfer of Tasks and Appointment of Members of the Board of Directors of the Company (Persero) PT Bio Farma.
