JAKARTA - President Director of Bio Farma Honesti Basyir said that the public needs to continue to be given awareness of the importance of immunization in an effort to improve national health.

By 2022 Bio Farma has distributed more than 178 million doses of vaccine for immunization for infants, school-age children, and fertile-age women.

"In addition to meeting domestic vaccine needs, Bio Farma has also met global vaccine needs by exporting its products to more than 150 countries," he said.

So far, Bio Farma has produced various types of vaccines with a production capacity of up to 3 billion doses. Bio Farma is the world's largest and largest vaccine producer in Southeast Asia.

Bio Farma has produced various types of vaccines, such as polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus,embike, hepatitis B, influenza, and the latest vaccine innovations, namely the COVID-19 vaccine, which is named IndoVac. In addition, the need for 2/3 polio vaccines in the world is supplied by Bio Farma.

Meanwhile, Director of Institutional Relations of Bio Farma Sri Harsi Teteki said Bio Farma Group was also part of the peak of the 2023 World Immunization Week commemoration organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

A series of activities to enliven the World Immunization Week (PID) event have been held at the central and regional levels from March to April 2023 with the theme "Let's Protect Yourself, Family and Society with Complete Immunization".

At the peak activity of the 2023 PID commemoration, Biofarma Group opened exhibition booths by displaying various products made by the nation's children as well as educating the importance of immunization to the community.
