PTBA Targets Production Of 40.1 Million Tons Of Coal

JAKARTA - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) targets coal production of 40.1 million tons for 2023. This target is an increase of 11 percent from the realization in 2022 of 37.1 million tons. Meanwhile, the transportation target in 2023 will increase to 32.0 million tons, an increase of 11 percent from the realization of transportation in 2022 which is 28.8 million tons.

"Regarding the 2023 coal sales volume, the Company is targeting an increase in sales to 41.2 million tons, an increase of 30 percent from the realization of coal sales in 2022 which amounted to 31.7 million tons," said PTBA President Director Arsal Ismail in a statement to the media, Saturday, April 29.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of PTBA, it also recorded a 26 percent increase in coal sales to 8.8 million tons compared to the same period in the same period in 2022.

"The increase in company coal sales during January-March 2023 is also in line with the increase in coal production by 7 percent to 6.8 million tons from 6.3 million tons in the first quarter of 2022," he said.

Arsal said, in the first quarter of 2023, the company recorded that the company's coal export sales reached 3.6 million tons, an increase of 59 percent compared to the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, sales realization for domestic or Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) was recorded at 5.2 million tons or grew 10 percent on an annual basis.
