JAKARTA - PT Gaya Abadi Sempurna Tbk (SLIS) or GAS in January-March 2023 recorded sales of 6,500 electric bicycles (e-bikes) and 450 units of electric motorbikes (e-motor bikes). GAS, through its subsidiary PT Champion Bike or Selis, produces a variety of electric motorized vehicles, including the Selis Pujasera which is increasingly in demand by business actors.

Main Director of Gaya Abadi Nusantara, Edi Hanafiah Kwanto, explained that this year his party launched Selis Pujasera as a three-wheeled electric vehicle designed to meet the needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) going around selling their wares.

"Therefore, Selis Pujasera is equipped with a pedal that can be driven by its user. This pedal is certainly not heavy because it is assisted by electricity. With the help of pedals and electric power, MSME activists who drive Selis Pujasera can reach selling areas that are farther away and spend less energy," said Edi, quoted on Wednesday, April 26.

This type of product is equipped with a 500-watt dynamo and an SLA battery which is enough to accompany the seller to drive up to 20 km. With this distance, the user can reach a fairly ideal distance at a speed of 15 km/hour. The reliability of Selis Pujasera sparked the interest of SMEs and trademark holders to use this three-wheeled electric bicycle.

"Selis Pujasera has been modified in such a way and collaborates with several trademarks, such as Xi Bo Bike, Kopi Jago, and Baso Jagorawi," said Edi.

He said the collaboration between Selis and the three companies had an impact on the development of lithium battery types at Selis Pujasera so that the distance would be longer. This type of battery is a superior type that has high security and longer battery life. This is an advance in technological development that results in a distance of up to 300 km.

This long-range type of battery life has sparked the interest of logistics companies to look at electric vehicles as mobility and operational vehicles.

"People with high mobility who travel long distances can use Selis' electric motorized vehicles which use long-range batteries so that users don't repeatedly charge the batteries. For this type of long-range, Selis is working with PT Sentramitra Dayautama, a local battery company in Indonesia," said Eddie.

Selis has had an official certificate as an Authorized Workshop for Installation, Maintenance, and Inspection of Electric Motor Drive System Installation Equipment for Motorized Vehicles since February 2022 issued by the Ministry of Transportation, Director General of Land Transportation.

In terms of electric motorcycle products, Selis has obtained 2 TKDN values for 2 of its flagship electric motorbikes, namely Emax with a TKDN value of 53.69% and Agats with a TKDN value of 53.37 percent.

Meanwhile, the government assistance electric motorbike conversion program is provided in the amount of IDR 7 million which is channeled through conversion workshops to people who have converted their motorcycles to reduce the total cost of conversion and is valid for every motorbike and is tax-free. The engine capacity of this electric convertible motorcycle is around 100-150 CC.

Selis with Hyundai Kefico signed this conversion partnership. Both parties are optimistic that they can meet the target of up to 60,000 units of convertible vehicles.

"We hope to be able to actively contribute to supporting the government's program to convert 200,000 conventional motorbikes to electricity in 2024," Edi added.

In order to meet customer needs, Selis has 48 branches throughout Indonesia that cover 3S services (sales, spare parts & service).

"Selis provides service excellence to customers because there is after-sales service Home Service, warranty for unit purchases starting over 2 years, and customer service via telephone and WhatsApp," said Edi.

In order to increase electric vehicles in the domestic market, Champion Bike or Selis will receive additional capital from its parent company, Gaya Abadi Sempurna.

The plan is for Gaya Abadi Sempurna to carry out a rights issue or increase in capital with pre-emptive rights I (PMHMETD I) which will be used entirely for PT Champion Bike.

The target for depositing the issuer's right issue capital with the SLIS code is IDR 147 billion which is allocated to Champion Bike to develop the electric vehicle segment. SLIS in 2022 posted a net profit of IDR 42.34 billion, up 66.56 percent from IDR 25.42 billion in 2021.
