JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is committed to completing the National Tourism Destination Main Plan (RIDPN)/Integrated Tourism Master Plan (ITMP) for KSPN Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan in the Special Region of Yogyakarta/Central Java, Raja Ampat in West Papua, and Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi.

This is done to support the development of the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) in order to encourage an increase in domestic and foreign tourist visits.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the ITMP Lake Toba study had been completed in March 2020 and had been submitted to Bappenas in May 2020.

During 2020-2023, the Ministry of PUPR has provided infrastructure support for KSPN Lake Toba worth IDR 2.38 trillion.

"It is hoped that the draft RDPN can be discussed at this April Ministerial Meeting. Currently, the stage of the application for input for the final draft draft of the Draft Presidential Regulation of the RIDPN Lake Toba," Basuki said in a written statement, Tuesday, April 11.

Furthermore, the preparation of the Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan RDPN is already in the stage of applying for input for the final draft of the Presidential Regulation Draft.

For the ITMP study, it was completed in December 2020 and submitted to the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in February 2021. The value of PUPR infrastructure support at KSPN Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan was IDR 2.29 trillion during 2020-2023.

"The issue for Borobudur is the existence of a Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) document that has not been approved by UNESCO. So, we ask the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to process the document until it gets approval from UNESCO," said Basuki.

Then, KSPN Wakatobi for its ITMP study will be presented at this April Ministerial Meeting. The Ministry of PUPR has disbursed funds of Rp. 13.7 billion to support Wakatobi's development since 2020. Finally, the ITMP study for KSPN Raja Ampat was completed in December 2022 and submitted to the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in February 2023.

For your information, the Ministry of PUPR has allocated funds of around Rp4.8 trillion during the 2020-2023 period to support the four KSPNs, so that a local government commitment is needed to accept infrastructure assets that have been built so that they can be maintained immediately.

The infrastructure support of the Ministry of PUPR is planned in an integrated manner, starting from connectivity, supply of raw water and clean water, waste management, sanitation, to housing improvement, through a master plan for infrastructure development that takes into account environmental, social and economic aspects.

This ITMP will be an integrated infrastructure planning document to support the optimal integration of tourism development.

Of the 10 priority tourism destinations, as many as six KSPNs were assigned to the Ministry of PUPR to be developed through the ITMP program, namely Lake Toba, Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan, Bromo-Tenggger-Semeru, Lombok, Labuan Bajo, and Wakatobi.
