JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) provides the latest technology simulator at Depo Tegalluar.

The simulator was presented to support the training of the Jakarta Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) driver.

The simulator has the same interior, features, and functions as the facilities that will later be used, namely Electric Multiple Unit type KCIC400AF.

General Manager Corporate Secretary of KCIC Rahadian Ratries said the function of this simulator is as a means of training for prospective KCJB drivers before they can operate EMU directly.

"Prospective KCJB drivers will receive training with this simulator regularly. The goal is for prospective drivers to get used to operating Fast Trains which are new technologies in Indonesia," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, March 22.

"If it is considered feasible and capable, then the prospective drivers will train using the real EMU," he continued.

Rahadian explained that the EMU KCICAF400 simulator can fully simulate operating conditions, dynamic performance, characteristric handling, characteristics of tration/gemership, and other EMU characteristics in various environments and operating conditions.

"The advantage of this simulator compared to other simulators is the number of training simulation scenarios that reach 222 training simulation scenarios," he explained.

In addition, said Rahadian, this simulator also has hydraulics on the bottom to simulate movements and vibrations that will be felt by the KCJB drivers later.

"This simulator can even clearly reproduce the running EMU conditions in different situations from the aspects of vision, hearing, movement, and handling reality," he said.

Later, after receiving training in the classroom, said Rahadian, the prospective KCJB drivers will conduct training at the KCIC400AF Simulator. The duration of each exercise is about 30 minutes according to the travel time of KCJB from Halim to Tegalluar.

"The prospective drivers will be trained on how to operate the most sophisticated high-speed train and SOPs that are carried out during an emergency," he said.

Rahadian explained that the simulator will simulate the phenomenon of general train errors, the skills of train drivers in assessing and eliminating train equipment errors, as well as the driver's adaptability in various emergencies.

This simulator can also monitor the development of the expertise of every prospective driver who trains.

Training using this simulator will make the preparation of prospective KCJB drivers more comprehensive.

The nation's children who are currently being trained at the Indonesian Railway Polytechnic Madiun will continue the stages of practice in the KCIC 400AF simulator. This training was presented by KCIC to ensure that Indonesian human resources will be ready to operate the first Fast Train in Southeast Asia," concluded Rahadian.
