JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) estimates that the construction of a buffer zone in the Oil Fuel Terminal (TBBM) or Plumpang Depo area requires funds of IDR 368 billion.

This was conveyed by SOE Minister Erick Thohir in a meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, March 20.

Erick said, buffer zones or buffer zones will be built with a width of 52.5 meters to separate areas between residential areas and Depo Plumpang, North Jakarta.

"The buffer zone is indeed we have to do it as soon as possible. This will also be built only 52.5 meters," said Erick.

Erick explained that based on international averages, the construction of the buffer zone should be 500 meters wide. However, with the Plumpang Depo condition not possible, it was decided to build only 52.5 meters.

So one of the proposed buffer zones has a water channel. In order to reduce if there are things that are not desirable. This is what we are doing for a while," he said.

Based on data presented by Erick, a study on the construction of the Plumpang buffer zone was carried out by Sucofindo. In the calculation as of March 16, 2023, there will be around 783 building units affected by the construction of the buffer zone.

Still referring to Erick's presentation, the construction of a buffer zone with a width of 52.5 meters will require funds of IDR 368 billion.

Regarding the construction of buffer zones in national vital objects, Erick said it requires the involvement of local governments. Currently, SOEs themselves manage 651 national vital objects.

"This (development buffer zone) is indeed an obstacle that is impossible for us to work alone without the support of the local government," he said.
