Made From Duplex Tempered, Panoramic Train Glass Will Not Be Broken Hit By Clashes

JAKARTA - The Panoramic Train has a different form of train in general. This train is specially designed to enjoy panoramas through large glass windows on the right and left. Likewise, the roof of the train is dominated by glass.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said the Panoramic Train uses duplex tempered glass. That way, the glass will not be shattered when hit by a very hard impact.

"We convey that this glass is duplex tempered. This means that if there is a very hard impact, it will not break. (The glass) will not be immediately dispersed," he said on the way from the Panoramic Train to Bandung Station, Monday, March 6.

According to Joni, if it is hit by a fairly hard foreign object, the Panoramic Train glass will only crack. Thus, the safety of passengers is guaranteed.

"If the glass is under strong pressure, the shape is only a crack so it is safe for passengers," he explained.

Therefore, said Joni, passengers do not need to hesitate to take the Panoramic Train. The reason is, the Panoramic Train glass is designed to withstand heat.

"This glass is designed to provide facilities for passengers. God willing (safe) don't worry about this wide glass," he said.

Panoramic Trains Have Many Interests

Joni said the Panoramic Train has many enthusiasts. This is evident from the occupancy rate or train occupancy which added 117 percent or there were 711 customers in February 2023.

The details consist of 405 train customers Argo Wilis Panoramic Bandung - Surabaya Gubeng pp relations and 306 Argo Parahyangan Panoramic train customers with Gambir-Bandung pp relations.

"It is hoped that with the increasing public interest in the Panoramic Train, tourism in Indonesia can grow through railways," he said.

Currently, there are two Panoramic Trains with a capacity per train of 38 seats. The facilities obtained by Panoramic Train customers include snacks, food, drinks, and blankets for night trips, free wifi, comfortable seats, and automatic controllable window curtains.

Then, mini pantry, extensive toilets, television at the end of the train, special baggage racks at the end of the train, very large dimensions of windows on both sides, and glass roofs extending from front to back which can be opened automatically, thus providing an interesting and memorable travel experience.
