PT PGN Tbk, as Pertamina's Gas Subholding, said that the use of gas fuel (BBG) gas can be an energy option during the transition period to new and renewable energy (EBT).

"BBG Gasku offers more value for users, which is more efficient than other fossil energy and environmentally friendly. Travel is also competitive with other vehicles. Therefore, Gasku can be an energy choice in the transition period towards the use of new and renewable energy," said PGN Finance Director Fadjar Widodo during a visit to the PGN booth at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2023 in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 16.

At the IIMS 2023 exhibition, PGN displayed natural gas utilization products for the transportation sector, namely BBG Gasku.

PGN provides BBG at an affordable price of IDR 4,500 per liter equivalent to premium (LSP).

Gasku user vehicles can still use fuel, because the operation of fuel is made dual, namely fuel and gas. Each vehicle will have a conversion tool installed to be able to use CNG type BBG stored in the tube.

"Users can be flexible in choosing fuel. By using Gasku, users can save money and will increase the amount of vehicle fuel, thereby increasing the distance they travel," explained Fadjar in his statement.

Gasku's main composition is high-octane methane, thus making engine performance better and low-lying emissions that are environmentally friendly.

According to him, PGN is ready to intensify the use of BBG for public transportation, motorcycles, and trucks/buses.

"Our design, Gasku for motorcycles will be packaged in a CNG tube with a diameter of 14 cm and a height of about 50 cm. This size is quite compact, allowing safe placement on the left and right of the steering column, without reducing driving comfort," said Fadjar.

There are two steel CNG tubes with high safety standards, which have a total capacity of 2.5 LSPs and can support a cruising range of up to 100 km in one full charge.

Fadjar also explained that the use of Gasku on motorcycles provides savings in fuel usage of up to 55 percent or equivalent to Rp. 5 million per year (consumption of 2.5 liters of Pertalite / day fuel).

In addition, it is also useful to help reduce the burden of fuel subsidies and dependence on imports of fuel equivalent to 91 thousand kiloliters per year (for 100,000 motorcycle units).

"Meanwhile, for trucks, we have gone through a diesel fuel (DDF) trial for three Pertamina's fuel tankers," he said.

BBG filling can currently be carried out at 19 charging locations in Jakarta, Bekasi, and Bogor, including PGN Head Office, Klender, Youth, Gandaria, Daan Mogot, Pondok Ungu, Karawang, and Citeureup.

"We want to be present during this transition period and play a role in creating an ecosystem for the use of BBG for vehicles in Indonesia. Our great hope is that starting in 2023, BBG vehicles will increase. That way, PGN will be increasingly motivated in providing environmentally friendly energy at affordable prices for vehicles and improving people's welfare," explained Fadjar.
