JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) recorded that oil and gas lifting in 2022 did not achieve the predetermined target.

Oil and gas lifting only reached 612 million barrels of oil per day (MBOPD) or only reached 87 percent of the 2022 target of 703 MBOPD.

Meanwhile, natural gas, which was previously targeted at 1003 MBOEPD, only reached 92.18 percent of the target or 955 MBOEPD.

"The failure to achieve the oil and gas lifting target is partly due to the low initial position or low entry point in early 2022, unplanned shutdown and delay field on stream on several projects," said Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji at a press conference in Jakarta quoted on Tuesday, January 31.

To overcome the low lifting, Tutuka said, efforts were needed to improve and achieve oil and gas lifting that had been and would continue to be carried out.

"Among other things, production optimization in existing fields, the transformation of Resources to Production, accelerating chemical EOR, massive exploration for large discovery or giant discovery, as well as ease of investment and incentives," said Tutuka.

Despite recording low lifting, Tutuka also reported another positive performance score, namely the use of domestic gas reaching 68 percent, PNBP SDA Migas amounting to Rp148.70 trillion or 106.90 percent above the target.

Then, the construction of natural gas networks for households (jargas) as many as 40,877 house connections (SR) spread across 12 regencies/cities and distribution of converter kits for fishermen as many as 30,000 packages in 17 provinces and converter kit packages for farmers who are also 30,000 packages in 16 provinces.

Furthermore, the use of natural gas for domestic needs in 2022 will reach 68 percent or 103 percent above the target of 66 percent.

"The use of natural gas for domestic needs will continue to be improved by ensuring the readiness of the domestic gas user sector through various policies, in order to support the growth and development of the domestic industry," he explained.

State revenue, especially PNBP SDA Migas in 2022, reached IDR 148.70 trillion or 106.90 percent above the target.

With the joining of the Lemigas Oil and Gas Testing Center in 2022, state revenues from the BLU PNBP sector have reached Rp188 billion or 121.29 percent of the target of Rp155 billion.
