JAKARTA - Perum Perhutani as a state-owned company is ready to strengthen its main business in the field of biomass and Nature Based Solutions (NBS) this year.

Assistant Deputy for Plantation and Forestry Industry of the Ministry of SOEs Rachman Ferry Isfianto said Perhutani is one of the SOEs with a strong foundation and plan to survive in the difficult times to come.

"In 2023 the Ministry of SOEs and Perhutani has many of the same goals. How can we create new businesses, this year biomass and NBS. We must be sustainable, all companies are required to be able to do that. Let's create a Perhutani like that," said Rachman Ferry in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, January 15.

He also expressed his appreciation to Perhutani for recording a profit of IDR 520 billion in 2022.

Perum Perhutani held a kick off of the 2023 Company's Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) which was attended by Perhutani President Director Wahyu Kuncoro and the entire Board of Directors of Perhutani and Assistant Deputy for Plantation and Forestry Industry of the Ministry of SOEs Rachman Ferry Isfianto and Senior Advisor II Deputy Minister I of the Ministry of SOEs Armendra Amen.

In this year's kick off event, Perhutani carried the theme "Strengthen Business, Grow Through Biomass & NBS, and Food Contribution from the Forestry Sector". Where this year, Perhutani will strengthen its core business in the fields of Biomass and Nature Based Solutions.

President Director of Perhutani Wahyu Kuncoro expressed his gratitude for the contribution of all parties in Perhutani throughout 2022. He is optimistic about Perhutani's achievements in 2023.

"We are able to grow 22 percent in 2022, inseparable from the contribution of all of our friends. Our biomass development will be completed this year. From the results of discussions with our market, there is optimism and hope for our products, especially wood this year. Must continue to rise, we are challenged to continue to grow in 2023," Wahyu said.

Meanwhile, appreciation also came from Senior Advisor II Deputy Minister 1 of the Ministry of SOEs Armendra Amen. He explained that the biomass and NBS business being worked on by Perhutani could help the country in preparing for future challenges.

"We appreciate the extraordinary synergy of all Perhutani personnel in 2022. Currently RKAP 2023, we hope Perhutani can achieve the work target according to the direction of shareholders, in this case the State. We will strengthen the biomass and NBS business this year. We will also strengthen the food sector to deal with the food crisis issues that we are currently anticipating," said Armendra.

In 2023 Perhutani also has several work programs, such as the direction of 5S Performance, namely the Success of Planning, Plant Success, Security Success, Production Success, and Financial Success.
