JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Finance reported that the realization of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) budget for the 2022 period was IDR 396.7 trillion of the total allocated IDR 455.6 trillion.

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the absorption was spread into three large clusters, namely health of Rp. 61.3 trillion, public protection of Rp. 152 trillion, and the economic recovery cluster of Rp. 183.4 trillion.

"The 2022 PEN program has been utilized optimally and has a real impact on protecting people's purchasing power and maintaining the momentum of economic recovery," he said during a press conference on the State Budget, quoted Wednesday, January 4.

The Minister of Finance explained that the allocation of health cluster funds was used for several important things, such as payment of claims for COVID-19 patients of 28.8 trillion, vaccination programs of IDR 3.4 trillion, incentives for health workers (nakes) of IDR 3.5 trillion, and tax incentives for the health sector of IDR 1.8 trillion.

Then, for the community protection cluster, among others, it is used for BLT BBM Rp12.7 trillion, the family hope program (PKH) Rp28.7 trillion, BLR cooking oil Rp7 trillion, BLT village funds Rp26.9 trillion, Pre-Employment Card Rp16.4 trillion, and Rp44 trillion for basic food cards.

For information, the 2022 PEN program is the last period of the special allocation of APBN funds to tackle the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting in 2023, the government will no longer budget PEN funds considering the spread of the pandemic is getting more and more under control and economic conditions have returned to normal levels.
