Speed Development, Hutama Karya Targets The Trans Sumatra Padang-Sicincin Toll Road Operating In 2024

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) continues to accelerate the construction of one of the fins (supporting corridors) of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS), namely the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road. This toll road is targeted to operate in mid-2024. The 36.6 km toll road will facilitate connectivity between Riau Province and West Sumatra. The construction is carried out by a subsidiary of Hutama Karya PT HK Infrastruktur (HKI). Operations III Director Hutama Karya, Koentjoro said that the progress of the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road construction has reached 45.5 percent and land acquisition progress has reached 81.2 percent. "Hutama Karya ensures the continuation of the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road project with an operational target of mid-2024," he said in an official statement, quoted on Friday, December 9. Furthermore, Koentjoro admitted that the construction of the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road was delayed due to land acquisition for toll roads. "We appreciate the local government who has formed a special team in seeking the solution of land acquisition problems. So that the acceleration of toll road construction can be carried out again," said Koentjoro.

Koentjoro explained that the presence of the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road will have two lanes with a plan speed of 80 km per hour, so that it can cut the travel time from Padang-Pekanbaru from 9 hours through arterial roads to approximately 3 hours. "In addition, the presence of this toll road will facilitate inter-regional connectivity and mobilize logistics distribution in these areas," he explained. For your information, the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road is one of six sections for the construction of the Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road with a total length of 254.8 km. The other five sections, namely Section 2 Sicincin- Bukittinggi, Section 3 Bukittinggi-Payakumbuh, Section 4 Payakumbuh-Pangkalan, Section 5 Pangkalan-Bangkinang, and Section 6 Bangkinang-Pekanbaru.
