Bank Mayapada Milik Konglomerat Dato Tahir Beli Gedung Ex Plaza Bali Senilai Rp1 Triliun

JAKARTA - PT Bank Mayapada Internasional Tbk (MAYA) owned by conglomerate Dato Tahir officially bought the ex Plaza Bali building worth IDR 1 trillion. The purchase of assets located on Jalan By Pass I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Kuta, Bali was carried out on November 23, 2022.

Furthermore, Bank Mayapada purchased the ex Plaza Bali building from PT Gatsu Griya Megatama (GGM) owned by the 4th child of conglomerate Dato Sri Tahir, namely Jonathan Tahir, through affiliated transactions.

"The transaction between the Company and GGM is an affiliated transaction as referred to in POJK Regulation 42/2020, because Mr. Dato' Sri Prof. DR. Tahir, MBA who serves as the Last Controlling Shareholder in the Company is one of the shareholders in GGM," wrote Mayapada Bank management in an information disclosure quoted on Monday, November 28.

However, the affiliated transaction does not include material transactions and changes in business activities, considering that the value of affiliated transactions is less than 20 percent of the company's equity of IDR 13.85 trillion in the company's financial statements as of June 30, 2022.

Meanwhile, the explanation regarding the considerations and reasons for the transaction was because the price offered was relatively cheap. In addition, Bank Mayapada will use the ex Plaza Bali building as a branch office to support the company's operations.

"The company made purchases of assets that had been rented at economical prices and used as Branch Offices. All funds from the sale of this building were then paid back to the Company as additional capital. In this case, the Company has an advantage over Affiliated Transactions," explained Mayapada Bank management.
