Closed B20 Event, Jokowi Quoted Messages To India: Continue To Discuss The Digitalization Of MSMEs

JAKARTA - The development and digitization of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is not only the focus of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the country, but also at the global level. Jokowi left a message to India to continue this goal when hosting the B20 and G20 Presidency in 2023. This request was conveyed by President Jokowi in front of the world's top entrepreneurs when closing the B20 Summit Indonesia in Bali, Monday, November 14. Jokowi said that digitization is very important so that the MSME sector is not left behind. It is not enough just to enter the digital ecosystem, said Jokowi, this small business actor needs to be supported and involved by big business actors. "Regarding digitization, I entrust a large one to bring in a small (business actor), (entrepreneurs) who want to raise small businesses, micro-businesses so that they don't fall behind," said Jokowi.

Jokowi also told about the efforts of the Indonesian government for the last three years to encourage MSME players to enter digital platforms. The former governor of DKI Jakarta said that out of a total of 64 million MSMEs in Indonesia, currently 19 million have entered the digital platform. "We have our targets later in 2024, we hope that the small ones will reach more than 30 million. This means that the small ones should not be left behind, I entrust them to India so that later the small businesses, micro businesses are also still being carried away again, continue," said Jokowi. On that occasion, Jokowi also did not forget to provide support and enthusiasm to India, which will host the B20 Presidency and the G20. "And lastly, I congratulate you on working for the B20 Presidency. India next year I am optimistic that 20 will be more solit and continue to develop," he said.
