Take Over Komodo Airport To Hang Nadim, Angkasa Pura I Will Manage 18 Airports

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura (Persero) or AP I plans to increase its airport management portfolio to 18 airports.

The plan is that AP I will manage three new airports, namely Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport, Kediri Dhoho International Airport, and Batam's Hang Nadim International Airport.

President Director of Angkasa Pura I, Faik Fahmi explained, if the takeover of the three airports is successful, then in 2023 the number of airports under Angkasa Pura I will reach 18 airports.

Furthermore, Faik said, AP I has now submitted a letter of interest to manage the airport and is consolidating it more intensely with the Ministry of Transportation.

"Hopefully, if there is an additional Labuan Bajo, then Kediri, Hang Batam, a total of 18 airports. Our plan for 2023, which Dhoho is starting to process. It depends on our stakeholders, the Ministry of Transportation," said Faik at the SOE Ministry Office, Jakarta, Monday, November 7th.

Currently, AP I is also processing the management of Hang Nadim International Airport, in Batam.

The airport was previously managed by the Batam Free Trade Area and Free Port Concession Agency (BP Batam).

The management of Hang Nadim International Airport is carried out in a strategic partner scheme. Where, PT International Airport Batam (PT BIB) as a consortium appointed by the government as manager.

The consortium was formed by Angkasa Pura Airports with 51 percent share ownership, Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) 30 percent shares, and 19 percent shares owned by PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk or WIKA.

Meanwhile, Komodo International Airport is still in the exploration stage. Where, AP I has submitted a management letter to the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

Faik said, there will be 10 to 20 foreign investors targeted by his side in building and managing Komodo airport.

"The concept is that we are indeed cooperating with a strategic partner, but whose partner strategy we are is still in the exploration stage, not final. Including with Astra Infrastructure we have discussed, but there are also other options, international, from the international partner strategy," he said.

Previously, Komodo Airport was managed under the Cooperation between Government and Business Entity (PPP) scheme.

The consortium is Cardig Aero Servis (CAS). The consortium consists of PT Cardig Aero Service, Changi Airports International Pte Ltd (CAI), and Changi Airports MENA Pre Ltd.

Meanwhile, at Dhoho Airport, in Kediri, AP I through Angkasa Pura Airports as the owner of an airport business entity license (BUBU) from the Ministry of Transportation cooperates with Gudang Garam, as a local investor.

"Dhoho Kediri is in the operational stage. 100 percent of the salt warehouse (investors)," he explained.
