Anticipating the Density of Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, Parking for the G20 Summit Plane to Makassar

JAKARTA – The government through the National Committee of the Indonesian G20 Presidency has prepared flight traffic engineering during the High-Level Conference (KTT) which will take place in the middle of this month.

Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat, Setya Utama, said that one of the concerns was the availability of aircraft parking areas which would be arranged in such a way.

According to him, the government wants the top agenda of the G20 not to interfere with the mobility of people who use civil aviation transportation modes at Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.

"Later we will use a lot of airports (for aircraft parking), especially for the wide-body", he said when stating the media crew on Monday, November 7.

Setya added that the parking diversion also applies to delegates who come with small planes.

"Also small planes, including private planes used by the guests, we have also prepared several airports for parking", he asserted.

For information, there are at least 20 delegation planes, including the Indonesian President's plane, of various sizes that will land in Bali during the summit event from November 13-16.

President Jokowi himself was noted to use a wide-body aircraft when he was present at the G20 Italy Summit in 2021, considering the long distance.
