Jakarta Will Be Flooded With Rice Stocks, Head Of Badanas: There Is Mobilization From South Sulawesi And NTB

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) will mobilize rice from the South Sulawesi and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) regions to meet availability in Jakarta, including from Bulog warehouses.

That way, Jakarta will be flooded with stocks or rice supplies.

Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi said, through mobilization efforts from several areas, the stock of medium rice at a price of Rp. 8,900 in Jakarta will be safe.

Furthermore, Arief said, South Sulawesi being one of the regions will supply rice to Jakarta.

According to Arief, the Governor of South Sulawesi has confirmed that he has sent 6,000 tons of rice to DKI Jakarta.

Then, said Arief, NTB will also shift its rice supply to Jakarta by 9,845 tons.

Bulog will also send 14,000 government rice reserves (CBP) to the Cipinang Rice Main Market.

"So Jakarta will be flooded with stock soon," he said at the Cipinang Rice Main Market, East Jakarta, Monday, November 7.

Arief said, in addition to maintaining stock availability in DKI Jakarta, rice mobilization in areas that are still in surplus is also for price stabilization through the Supply Availability and Price Stabilization (KPSH) program or market operations.

"Today we built a price of Rp. 8,900 at the Cipinang Main Market level and Rp. 9,300 in derivative markets in Jakarta. There are 153 markets where we will pour rice," he said.
