Many Frauds Take The Name Of The Director, Pegadaian Asks The Public To Always Call The Nearest Outlet Or Official Contact Number

Head of the Corporate Communication Department of PT Pegadaian Basuki Tri Andayani asked the public to be careful of the mode of fraud that uses the name of the President Director of Damar Latri Setiawan.

Basuki explained, recently, there was a case of fraud against a new employee of PT Pegadaian who asked to deposit some money in the name of the President Director.

"Currently, there are attempts to fraud in employee recruitment on behalf of the President Director, Damar Latri Setiawan. The mode is by sending invitations to accept new prospective employees to take part in the selection stage in Jakarta. Furthermore, they are asked to transfer some money for transportation and lodging costs. This information is clearly fake considering that in every employee recruitment, applicants are not charged any fees," he said in an official statement received by VOI, Wednesday, October 26.

Basuki further said that currently there are fake Telegram and WhatsApp numbers claiming to be the Director of Marketing and Product Development, Elvi Rofiqotul Hidayah. Through this number, the perpetrator offers items that are claimed to be auctions from Pegadaian.

Basuki emphasized that the auction process was only carried out through an official process carried out at Pegadaian outlets, bazaars or exhibitions held by Pegadaian.

"I need to say that in line with the implementation of Good Company Governance (GCG), all Pegadaian people are prohibited from doing personal business related to the company's business. This is done to prevent conflicts of interest for the parties," he said.

He further added that the public can find out whether they have experienced fraud or not just by looking at the signature listed in the circular.

"In this case, the President Director does not handle the employee recruitment process, nor does the Director of Marketing and Product Development not make direct transactions in the process of auctioning guarantee goods. Therefore, the public is asked to be careful if they get similar information," he explained.

Basuki hopes that the public will be careful and vigilant, and confirm through the nearest Pegadaian outlet, the 1500 569 call center or the official WhatsApp [phone].
