JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) is ready to meet electricity needs in the Kendal Industrial Estate, Central Java. With a power supply of 40,000 kilo Volt Ampere (kVA), it is expected to spur industry in the region.

The fulfillment of electricity needs was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PLN and PT United Power, as the electricity manager for the Kendal Industrial Estate.

General Manager of PLN Central Java and DI Yogyakarta Distribution Main Units, M Irwansyah Putra, said that this MoU is a form of cooperation between PLN and PT United Power to change power from the previous 20 kV medium voltage connection (TM) with 17.3 MVA power to high voltage connection (TT) 150 kV with a power of 40,000 kVA.

"The Kendal Industry area is one of the industrial areas that is growing quite rapidly in Central Java. As many as 78 tenants in the Kendal Industrial Estate are currently entering with a total electric power contracted with KIK Kendal reaching 36 MVA," said Irwansyah in his official statement, Monday, October 3.

According to Irwansyah, with the service of this 40,000 kVA connection, it will increase customer experience, especially for the Kendal Industrial Estate and the tenants it manages.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Java Provincial ESDM Office, Sujarwanto Dwiatmoko, said that the fulfillment of electricity supply from PLN can support the growth of the Kendal Industrial Estate and can encourage a more advanced economy.

"With the growth of the Kendal Industrial Estate, it is hoped that in the future Central Java can become an increasingly strategic economy in Indonesia," said Sujarwanto.
