JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said Indonesia achieved the highest economic growth between the state and the area of members of the G20 forum which indicated that the recovery in the country was continuing.

"So if I was told to estimate that the second quarter could grow 5.44 percent (year on year/yoy), try to find the G20 country which grew above five percent. We are the highest in the G20," Jokowi said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 29.

Seeing this achievement, Jokowi invites all parties to be optimistic to continue the trend of Indonesia's economic recovery.

Jokowi admits that Indonesia faces global challenges that are not easy, but there is always a way to overcome every problem.

"What we face is not easy, it is not easy but must remain optimistic," he said.

Jokowi said that the current global economic condition is difficult. Economic challenges are also faced by developed countries such as food security issues, energy crises to financial turmoil.

However, said Jokowi, Indonesia is still able to maintain the ongoing economic recovery.

Several indicators of Indonesia's economic recovery, Jokowi explained, among others, state revenues that have grown 49 percent or Rp1,764 trillion, of which are tax revenues of up to Rp1,171 trillion or grew 58 percent.

"Receipt of customs and excise of Rp206 trillion or grew 30.5 percent, the growth was very jumping. Then the realization of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) amounted to Rp386 trillion or grew 38.9 percent," he explained.

In addition, consumer optimism is also still high because the Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) is recorded at 124.7. Banking credit has also grown to 10.7 percent.

On the other hand, Indonesia's trade balance scored a surplus in 28 consecutive months of 5.7 billion US dollars.

"This is really big, you know, this number is a surplus. The promise of manufacturing index (PMI) is 51.7 above the global level," concluded Jokowi.
