Unbroken Record, State Budget Still Recorded A Surplus Of IDR 107.4 Trillion In August

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani reported that until August 2022 the condition of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) recorded a surplus of Rp107.4 trillion. According to her, this amount is greater than the July 2022 period which amounted to Rp106.1 trillion.

"The performance of the state budget until August 31 is maintained, supported by the performance of state revenues and positive spending," he said in a presentation today, Monday, September 26.

It was explained that state revenues collected amounted to Rp1,764.4 trillion. This value was supported by tax revenues which grew 53.2 percent year on year (yoy) to Rp1,378 trillion.

The tax revenue itself consists of tax revenues of Rp1,171.8 trillion and customs and excise revenues of Rp206.2 trillion.

Another source is non-tax state revenue (PNBP) with a book of Rp386 trillion.

"The growth of state revenue continues as a result of commodity prices and maintained economic recovery," he said.

Meanwhile, in terms of spending, it was recorded at Rp1,657 trillion. This number increased 6.2 percent yoy from the realization of spending in August 2021 which amounted to Rp1,560.8 trillion.

In detail, spending in August 2022 consists of central government spending of Rp1,178.1 trillion and transfers to regions of Rp478.9 trillion.

"The growth in state spending is getting better, but it is necessary to anticipate the need for subsidies and compensation as well as the provision of additional social assistance to increase people's purchasing power. Shopping needs to be accelerated to balance revenues to provide protection and maintain economic recovery," he said.

The editor noted that the achievement until last month extended the surplus record since the beginning of the year, namely January a surplus of Rp28.9 trillion, February a surplus of Rp19.7 trillion, March a surplus of Rp10.3 trillion, April a surplus of Rp103.1 trillion.

Then, May's surplus of Rp132.2 trillion, June's surplus of Rp73.6 trillion and July's surplus of Rp106.1 trillion.
