JAKARTA - The Central Executive Board (BPP) of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) highlighted the potential for new and renewable energy in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) which is considered capable of being used to support the efforts of the central government regarding the renewable energy mix.

Secretary General of the Central Management Agency (BPP) Hipmi Bagas Adhadiri to reporters in Kupang, Wednesday night, said that the potential for heat in NTT, especially in Kupang City itself, was perfect.

"I see the very perfect weather in NTT to be made into a solar power plant," said Bagas Adha on the sidelines of the Regional Business Forum which was held by BPD Hipmi NTT, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 22.

Bagas said that the new renewable energy has become a world consensus, in the future countries should no longer use coal as a raw material for power plants.

This is if you use coal too often, it will damage the environment. So Hipmi itself encourages the potential for heat in NTT to be utilized.

In addition to the potential for new and renewable energy, Bagas, who is also a candidate for general chairman of Hipmi, believes that the tourism sector in NTT is also a potential that can be utilized to improve the regional economy.

"I see that NTT's future is one of the tourism sectors," he said.

Bagas admitted that he was amazed by the potential for tourism in Kupang City, where its beauty is almost similar to that of Monaco, one of the countries in Europe whose tourism sector contributes to domestic development.

With the huge potential of NTT, Bagas requested that the Hipmi NTT led by General Chair Ikhsan Darwis must make a master plan for potential development programs in NTT.

"The NTT Hipmi must also be able to make a master plan in accordance with the master plan prepared by the government, for example in the tourism sector, because Himpi's presence as a partner is to support government programs, especially in the economic field," he said.
