The NDC Target Requires 280 Billion US Dollars, The Opening Of The European Investment Bank Office In Jakarta Is A Symbol Of Asia Pacific Development

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the presence of the European Investment Bank (EIB) representative office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific region in Jakarta was in line with Indonesia's commitment to green and sustainable projects.

But to realize the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) target, we need more than US$280 billion. Therefore, 1 billion euros is not enough," he said in an official statement quoted on Sunday, September 11.

According to the Minister of Finance, the presence of EIB brings its own symbol in order to ensure that development loans are able to accelerate growth.

We are a country that has a strong determination and commitment to climate change, especially on sustainable development. Of course, this shows a very important attitude to create and build cooperation in overcoming development problems, as well as building mutual respect," he said.

The Minister of Finance also hopes that this cooperation project will be completed quickly, have good breakthroughs, and have more appropriate and efficient environmental and social governance.

"So I hope all of you are here from the EIB and all teams to really be benchmarks and one of the best examples in Southeast Asia and the Pacific including Indonesia. This is really a good project.
