Sri Mulyani Affirms The Government's Alignment To MSMEs, Incentives And Subsidies Continue To Flow

JAKARTA - The government through the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani stated that the existence of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is a simple idea of the community which is then realized into productive activities and contributes significantly to the national economy.

Therefore, the government is committed to continuing to be present in MSME business activities in order to encourage a higher level of contribution.

“So MSMEs do have tenacity and continue not to give up. Therefore, the government is trying to support more MSMEs so that they can reach more goals," he said in a written statement quoted by the editors on Sunday, August 14.

According to the Minister of Finance, the government is now trying to help business actors to penetrate foreign markets.

"This will give even greater enthusiasm to all business people and also the ranks at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance (DJBC) so that we can improve all synergies to help MSMEs," he said.

As implementation in the field, the state treasurer said that the government would continue to support MSMEs through various programs, such as subsidies, incentives, relief, financing, including customs facilities to encourage exports as well as auction services for MSME products.

"The various APBN supports for MSMEs aim to encourage business actors to rise again, be able to advance to class, penetrate the export market and participate in supporting the recovery of the national economy," he said.

For example, the Minister of Finance explained that the government formed an ultra-micro instrument to help access capital. According to him, the first obstacle for SMEs to continue their idea is the lack of sufficient capital.

"The first obstacle is usually not having capital, that's why the government has even formed what is called an ultramicro instrument because sometimes what is borrowed only needs Rp. 2.5 million, Rp. 5 million, Rp. 10 million," closed Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
