JAKARTA - The manager of a KFC restaurant in the country, PT Fast Food Indonesia Tbk (FAST) recorded an increase in performance in the first semester of 2022. The company, whose shares are owned by conglomerates Ricardo Gelael and Anthony Salim, posted a profit in the first half of 2022 after suffering losses in the first six months. last year.

In the company's financial report, quoted on Friday, August 5, FAST's profit for the year in the first semester of 2022 reached IDR 32.66 billion, reversing from a loss position of IDR 76.91 billion in the first semester of 2021.

The profit obtained by FAST cannot be separated from the increase in revenue in the first semester of 2022 which reached 18.01 percent year-on-year (yoy), from IDR 2.42 trillion in the first semester of 2021 to IDR 2.86 trillion in the first semester of 2021.

The majority of FAST's revenue was supported by sales of food and beverages to third parties which reached IDR 2.84 trillion, up from the realization in the same period last year of IDR 2.40 trillion.

Meanwhile, based on geographic segment, the restaurant service center (RSC) in the Jakarta area was the largest revenue contributor with a value of IDR 1.03 trillion, followed by other areas with a total of IDR 846.99 billion. Along with the increase in revenue, FAST's cost of goods sold also increased 16.04 percent yoy to IDR 1.08 trillion, compared to IDR 933.30 billion in semester I/2022.

However, KFC still posted a gross profit of IDR 1.78 trillion, an increase of 19.38 percent compared to IDR 1.49 trillion in the first semester of 2021.

As of the end of June 2022, the total value of FAST's assets was IDR3.55 trillion, while liabilities decreased by 2.25 percent to IDR2.57 trillion from IDR2.63 trillion at the end of December 2021. As of June 30, 2022, FAST's equity rose 6.46 percent to IDR 978.65 billion.

The total outlets operated by FAST until the end of June 2022 were 729 outlets, an increase from the position on December 31, 2021, which was 727 outlets.
