Three Big Government Banks Succeeded In Big Profits, Who Was The Most Steady?

JAKARTA – Three national banks controlled by the government, namely PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk. (BRI), PT Bank Mandiri Tbk., and PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk. (BNI) has submitted its business performance for the first semester of 2022.

In the VOI search, the three state-owned banks managed to reap a total net profit of IDR 53.7 trillion. The highest record was recorded by BRI with a total of IDR 24.7 trillion in the latest financial report.

Meanwhile, the next place was occupied by Bank Mandiri with IDR 20.2 trillion and BNI with IDR 8.8 trillion.

The results achieved by these three state-owned banks were much higher than in the first semester of 2021, which at that time was worth IDR 29.9 trillion. In detail, each contributed by BRI amounting to IDR 12.4 trillion, Bank Mandiri IDR 12.5 trillion, and BNI IDR 5 trillion.

Furthermore, the successful streak in the first six months of this year cannot be separated from the improving performance of intermediation. For example, Bank Mandiri, which was successful, was able to disburse loans amounting to IDR 1.138.3 trillion, or grew 12.22 percent.

This effort is supported by the company's ability to keep the ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) under control at the level of 2.47 percent. Then for the restructuring of credit affected by COVID-19, it has decreased to Rp. 58.2 trillion from the previous IDR 96.5 trillion in June 2020.

Then, BNI is known to have succeeded in disbursing loans of IDR 620.4 trillion in the first half of this year, growing 8.9 percent from the first half of last year. The company's NPL has decreased and is now at 3.2 percent.

Furthermore, for BRI, the company's slick performance is supported by net interest income, aka net interest margin (NIM), which is IDR 64 trillion. Then, operating profit of IDR 31.1 trillion.

Meanwhile, the ratio of non-performing loans moved up to 3.3 percent at the end of June 2022 from the previous 3.2 percent in June 2021.
