JAKARTA - President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Alfian Nasution, opened his voice about public concerns about the safety of using cell phones in the area of Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU).

Alfian appealed to the public not to worry. Because his party has collaborated with Occupational Safety and Health (K3) experts.

"We have collaborated with K3 experts and we have benchmarks. It is actually safe, moreover what we are doing is only showing the QR code", said Alfian to reporters, Monday, July 11.

For this reason, continued Alfian, his party will replace some of the posters at gas stations regarding signs that prohibit the use of cell phones in the gas station area.

"Like in Shell, what we prohibit is when people make phone calls", continued Alfian.

The same thing was also expressed by the Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga Sub Holding Pertamina Commercial & Trading Irto Ginting.

Irto emphasized that the prohibition on using cell phones was aimed at telephone communication at a distance of approximately 1.5 meters from a gas station dispenser, or when dismantling a fuel tank car.

Furthermore, Irto added, for convenience and anticipating obstacles in the field, apart from being accessed using the MyPertamina application, the QR Code received can also be brought physically to the gas station when you want to fill Pertalite and Solar fuel.

The QR Code will then be matched with the data by the gas station operator.

"People don't need to worry, the steps are very easy, the important thing is to make sure you have registered and make sure the data has been confirmed. If you have received the QR Code, the transaction will run as usual", he added.
