Members Of Commission VII Question The Unachieved Target Of 1 Million Gas Networks

JAKARTA - Member of Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VII, Diah Nurwitasari, criticized the program to build one million gas networks for the community so far has not been achieved.

The Director-General of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Energy, and Mineral Resources continue to be criticized for this program.

She assessed that there has been no progress on the construction of an extensive gas network and everything is still considered normal.

In her statement, she questioned the seriousness of the Director-General of Oil and Gas in dealing with this issue.

At a meeting with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, last week, Diah had questioned this and continued to question the Director-General of Oil and Gas regarding the achievements of the gas network development.

Diah said the government was still running a very "small" effort to achieve the planned one million gas network target.

"How long can this target be achieved if the implementation is still normal", she wrote in an official statement, Tuesday, June 14.

On the other hand, Diah also called for the Director-General of Oil and Gas to seriously increase oil and gas lifting, following the findings of an increase in national oil and gas reserves.

"Don't let our efforts be not optimal in maximizing these reserves", she hoped.

Diah added that the role of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was also questioned.

Ideally, the main function of the Inspectorate General is to oversee the implementation of all plans in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"For example, the inspectorate must supervise the construction of a network of one million gas networks that have not been achieved and the findings of oil and gas reserves to increase lifting", concluded Diah.
