JAKARTA – Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio Kacaribu, revealed that the tax revenue sector which consists of taxes and customs and excise will make a positive performance.

"We estimate that tax revenues in 2022 will grow by 15.3 percent this year", he said during a working meeting with the DPR's Budget Agency at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, June 13.

According to Febrio, the outlook is based on the belief that state revenues from commodity levies will remain high until the end of the year.

"Our tax receipts remain optimistic, but we must be careful in dealing with these uncertainties", he said.

In detail, Sri Mulyani's subordinates explained that tax revenues would reach IDR 1,784 trillion with tax revenues of IDR 1,485 trillion and customs and excise of IDR 299 trillion.

This figure is much larger than the realization of tax revenues in 2021 which amounted to IDR 1,547.9 trillion, with details of taxes of IDR 1,278.6 trillion and customs and excise of IDR 269.2 trillion.

“Tax receipts have returned to pre-pandemic levels. The economic recovery and commodity prices will also boost the performance of tax revenue in 2021", he said.

The same thing can be seen from the tax ratio during the pandemic which continues to climb, namely 8.32 percent in 2020 (of gross domestic product/GDP), 9.12 percent in 2021, and 9.55 percent in 2022.
