Expected To Be Indonesia's Orchard Road, New City Road Construction In Sawangan Has Been Completed

JAKARTA - The new city development project in Sawangan, Vasanta Ecotown is proceeding aggressively. Even during a pandemic, development progress is progressing rapidly. The construction of roads and infrastructure in this new 102-hectare independent city can be seen extending from Bojongsari highroad, connected to Muchtar highroad.

Shila at Sawangan, a residential segment part of the Vasanta Ecotown township, was introduced in May 2021. Construction has also started in October 2021 for three clusters, namely Grove, Forest, and South Lake. The three clusters will start handing over at once in December 2022.

It is worth looking forward to the development of this new city in its second year, where the fourth cluster, Tilia, which has been sold 85%, will have its groundbreaking ceremony in October this year. According to Kenji Ono, President Director of PT Diamond Development Indonesia, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan.

“The extraordinary enthusiasm from the sale of three residential clusters in one year of marketing provided an opportunity for us to carry out development faster than planned. Our focus in the next six months is to realize the commercial area of the township Vasanta Ecotown, namely Senopati Boulevard. A township will be successful if it has facilities and commercial areas to complete it. The success of selling out the first phase of Senopati Boulevard as many as 55 units in the month of Lebaran allows us to immediately begin construction of the retail area on this commercial street one year earlier than previously promised, which was previously targeted to be completed in December 2023 to December 2022," added Director of PT Pakuan Tbk, Denny Aslim.

Senopati Boulevard, which will later become the main street in Sawangan, is a commercial area with a 2 KM shopping street concept similar to Orchard Road in Singapore. Introduced in April 2022, the first stage of Senopati Boulevard sold out in one month. Several large tenants have stated that they will join the Senopati Boulevard mall in 2023.

Other commercial sections that exist to support the success of Senopati Boulevard are Urbana, the first urban farm in South Jakarta that offers eduleisure of organic plants and restaurants with the concept of farm to table. Next, Marche with an area of 1.9 hectares located on Muchtar highroad. Marche will complete the needs of consumers and residents to shop for daily needs and also F&B. One of the restaurants that will be attending is Telaga Seafood, a seafood restaurant that will start operating in July 2022.
