JAKARTA - PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina Gas Subholding and part of BUMN fully supports the role of millennial professionals in driving the company's business and facing the challenges ahead. This is in line with the transformation of the Ministry of SOEs in providing large space for millennial human resources (HR) within SOEs.
There are 4 key factors for SOEs in supporting Indonesia's economic growth until 2045, namely downstreaming of natural resources, the potential of the digital economy, professional and transparent SOEs, and the development of Human Capital. So encouraging SOEs to make big changes through transformation.
"We have a very important transformation, namely human resources, because corporate companies without strong human resources will be disrupted. What is dangerous is that companies are not disrupted by the environment, but are disrupted by themselves because their human resources are not strong," said Special Staff III for Public Communication of the Ministry BUMN, Arya Sinulingga, in the Pertamina Gas Subholding Millenial Gathering event, at the Graha PGAS Auditorium, quoted Wednesday, May 25.
"We really believe that young people can be given big spaces, that's why we encourage them. Including for women. BUMN has a target of 25 percent of women being at the vanguard of BUMN. This means that women have a large space to become directors," continued Arya.
KBUMN involves young professionals to make SOEs competitive in line with technological, innovative, and digital-based developments in the future. So KBUMN encourages the birth of digital talents in SOEs with a target of increasing 20 percent by 2024.
SOEs are also transforming their business models to create a more efficient ecosystem from 108 SOEs to 41 SOEs, 12 clusters, and 88 strategic KBUMN initiatives.
Arya revealed that the transformation of SOEs has paid off with improved performance and market appreciation. In 2021, SOEs managed to get an increase in income of 3 percent, net profit of 765 percent, dividend contribution of Rp. 40.13 trillion, and as many as 3 SOEs were included in the Top 5 Public Companies with the largest Market Cap in Indonesia.
With the core value of AKHLAK, BUMN is expected to be the best place to learn, grow, and contribute to Indonesia.
"The Millennial Generation in BUMN plays an important role in the company's progress. In the midst of the progress of the 4.0 economic revolution and global uncertainty, the millennial generation is more agile to be adaptive and proficient in using technology and science," said PGN Director of Human Resources and Business Support Beni Syarif Hidayat.
At the end of 2021, Subholding Gas workers are dominated by workers under 40 years old by 46 percent. With this composition, the Subholding Gas Group guarantees the regeneration process in running the company's business wheels.
For millennials, PGN has a corporate culture program based on AKHLAK core values, such as CVIRALS and SUPER activities. The SUPER program is a development program to enrich employee competencies through experiential learning that can support the achievement of company targets in the sales sector.
Meanwhile, the C-Virals Program is an intrapreneurship skill development program by facilitating creative ideas and employee innovation in realizing, scaling up and incubating into added value (efficiency, effectiveness, new revenue) for the company.
"Hopefully the presence of millennials, who are more creative and sensitive to technology in the BUMN environment, can become the front cadres who bring big changes and Indonesia is increasingly global," Beni concluded.
