Having 40 Thousand Sharia Mutual Fund Investors, Bahana TCW Builds Cooperation With Bank Muamalat To Expand Distribution Of Mutual Fund Products

JAKARTA – A State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) engaged in investment management, PT Bahana TCW Investment Management, has established a partnership with Bank Muamalat and the FUNDtastic+ investment platform related to the sale of online-based Mutual Fund investment products.

Director of Bahana TCW Doni Firdaus said that this collaboration is an expansion of distribution channels and sales of the Bahana MES Syariah Mutual Fund investment product which has been marketed by Bahana TCW since the end of 2016.

"In addition to the Bahana MES Syariah, Bank Muamalat will also market the Bahana Likuid Syariah (BLS) mutual fund product, which is a mutual fund product with an investment strategy that invests 100 percent in Islamic bank deposits," he said in an official statement on Monday, May 23.

According to Doni, the synergy formed allows Bank Muamalat to be able to sell MES Syariah Mutual Fund investment products to customers while strengthening product penetration as an alternative investment that had previously been marketed by FUNDtastic.

"Mahana MES sharia is a type of fixed income mutual fund whose investment management concept pays attention to sharia rules and regulations," he said.

For information, until the end of March 2022 the total number of investors in MES Syariah Mutual Funds reached more than 40,000 number of accounts (NOA) with a total Net Asset Value (NAV) of Rp.237.06 billion.

Meanwhile, the investment strategy in this MES Syariah Mutual Fund is 80 percent to 100 percent of the portfolio will be invested in sharia government and corporate bonds and a maximum of 20 percent will be invested in Islamic money market securities.

On the same occasion, Bank Muamalat President Director Achmad K. Permana said the company's customers' interest in investment products continues to increase from year to year in line with sales growth. He explained that the average sales grew by 160 percent per year for the last 4 years.
