Erick Thohir: Thanks To The Efforts Of The TNI, Polri, Ministries, And The Community, We Are Now Heading To A Normal Point Like Before The COVID-19 Pandemic

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir claims that currently Indonesia is heading to normal conditions, after going through the COVID-19 pandemic for 2 years. Erick said that the 2 years of the pandemic were very burdensome for the government, including the community.

"Alhamdulillah, after 2 years, we are now heading to a normal point. Of course these 2 years have been very burdensome not only for individuals, for the community, and for us in the government," said Erick through his Instagram account @erickthohir, Tuesday, April 26.

Erick's statement is in line with positive cases in the country which recorded a significant decline compared to the beginning of last year. Even so, as of Monday, April 25, positive cases of COVID-19 increased by 317 people. As of April 25, the total number of cases in Indonesia has reached 6,044,467.

Erick noted that this success was the fruit of the government's hard work, which has been hunting for vaccines since 2020. Where, the authorities collaborated with several countries and global health producers to bring in a number of types of COVID-19 vaccines in the country.

"This is an effort made with the TNI/Polri, relevant ministries, and of course the enthusiasm of the community to participate in vaccination," he said.

Furthermore, Erick noted, currently Indonesia has also managed to enter the ranks of the five largest countries with the highest number of vaccinations in the world. This is because of the strong mutual cooperation and cooperation between the government and the community.

For your information, the COVID-19 Task Force reported that the number of Indonesian citizens who had received the full dose of vaccine (two doses) reached 152,405,191 people. This figure is based on data collected until Wednesday, March 16 at 12.00 WIB.

Erick also believes that gotong royong is a strength for Indonesia in facing any challenges.

"It is proven, if we work together, Indonesia can face any tough challenges," he said.
