Bank Indonesia Bali Prepares IDR 4.9 Trillion Cash Ahead Of Eid

DENPASAR - The Bali Province Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPwBI) has prepared IDR 4.9 trillion in cash to anticipate the increasing need for cash in the month of Ramadan and ahead of Idul Fitri 2022.

"We provide the need for money fit for circulation in sufficient amounts and denominations, which is IDR 4.9 trillion or four times greater than the need per month," said Head of KPwBI Bali Province Trisno Nugroho in Denpasar, Thursday, April 7.

Bank Indonesia recorded that the amount of money circulated in the first quarter of 2022 in the Bali region was IDR 1.52 trillion or an average of IDR 508 billion per month.

However, specifically for April 2022, his party estimates that the need for cash in the community will increase to Rp1.11 trillion, an increase of 119.4 percent compared to the average per month in the first quarter of 2022.

"The increase in cash demand is in line with the increase in economic activity and payments by adjusting government policies for travelers," he said.

Domestic Travelers (PPDN) can travel without a rapid antigen test for those who have carried out booster vaccinations.

Likewise, for foreign travelers, it is enough to show the PCR results in the country of origin without quarantine, so that it has an impact on increasing the number of tourists and increasing economic activity.

Trisno added that apart from providing cash amounting to IDR 4.9 trillion, his party also expanded money exchange points outside Bank Indonesia offices to 294 locations throughout the bank's office network in Bali Province.

In addition, with mobile cash services at 11 points, which will be opened on April 4-29, 2022.
